Newfoundland offers one of most exciting and exhilarating Moose Hunts in the world. The species of moose found in Newfoundland is known as the Eastern Canadian Moose. Moose are more plentiful here than any other place in North America, with an estimated 160,000 moose making Newfoundland their home. The Newfoundland Moose on average, tend to be about 1,100 - 1,200 pounds with some approaching the 1,400 pounds and can yield antlers between 40-60 inches. Adult cows average approximately 800-900 pounds. Area 10 is one of the prime hunting locations on Newfoundland island with a cow-to-bull ratio of an estimated 60:40 ratio.

Our guides use and instruct hunting techniques such as calling, stalking and still hunting. ATV’s are used for transportation throughout the hunt. The most common length of shots average about 100 to 200 yards, although it is not uncommon to see shots ranging from 250 to 300 yards. We hunt early morning, break for lunch and the majority of days we hunt until late evening.
